I have seen a lot of people who have been always confused with different hosting types. I have tried to describe all hosting types that everyone need to know about.

There are two types of hosting packages, one is for free and the another one is paid. When you are going for free hosting, you don’t need to pay for your space with money but the service is usually compensated with advertisements. When you are going for free hosting, thinking of support is just a waste of time and it also has many other disadvantages. Free hosting is like a thing of past, as because we all know that hosting has become very cheap.

Shared HostingShared Hosting: The most popular and widely used web hosting package. In shared hosting package, multiple sites are hosted on the same hard drive and server. Every user is allotted with specific space and data transfer.

Reseller HostingReseller Hosting: It is also one of the best online businesses where people are just doing marketing, selling accounts and making good amounts of money under their own brand. Reseller is provided with all the required things and does not need to have any hardware.

Virtual Private ServerVirtual Private Server : Also known as VPS, you can call it as a low cost solution for your own server. Here you do not rent a real server but rather split hardware with other virtual servers on the same machine. Although Virtual Private server provides all that a real server does. It includes: root access, installing your own required programs, hosting unlimited domains and much more.

dedicated serverDedicated Servers: It is an advanced type of hosting that includes rental and exclusive use of computer, software and internet connection. It provides you a pretty good control than any other type of hosting does, but it also means that you have a greater responsibilities because you are the only one who has to manage the server by himself. Dedicated Server is the only solution for the big websites with a good number of daily users.

Managed Hosting

Managed Hosting: It  is an expanded dedicated server hosting. With dedicated server the client takes care of the server, but with managed hosting it is the responsibility of the hosting provider. It includes all the benefits of dedicated server plus server management, maintenance and monitoring 24×7.

colocation hostingColocation Hosting: Here, you can bring your own server to your hosts datacenter where hosting company is proving you a rack space, internet connection(air temperature, security, redundancy) and IT staff that is available 24×7 for help.

Clustered HostingClustered Hosting: It is usually used by the greatest and most important web sites. In clustered hosting, the same content is served on multiple servers and it is also known as server mirroring. It helps in enabling better managing and redundancy.

If you are not sure which hosting package is right for you, don’t worry!! Bod host UK team will be happy to help you!!
